Inspiration Challenge

In October, 2020, Telaraña launched an Inspiration Challenge to keep our members connected to each other and to our state during the isolation of the pandemic.  The unifying theme of this project is the statement “Arizona landscape inspires all who live and visit here.”   We asked participants to turn to visual images of our stunning Arizona landscapes as a source of inspiration to create a fiber related work of art; twenty members participated in the Challenge.   Each piece consists of three parts:  the visual image that served as the source of inspiration , the completed piece, and a short paragraph describing the relationship between the two.  We were amazed by the quality of the work and sought to find an exhibit venue. The Scottsdale Civic Center Library Gallery has offered an exhibit space from April, 2022 through mid July, 2022. Our work will be exhibited along with pieces from another textile group; the show will be titled “Interwoven”.  Further, we have been accepted for a show at Visions Gallery in downtown Chandler during November, December and possibly January, 2023. Visions is requesting more pieces from our members and we encourage you to consider submitting some work. Each piece will need to follow the same format: photo, textile creation, and a paragraph linking the two. Please title your peace and provide dimensions. Please contact Maureen McCarthy with any questions.  Here are a few examples of member submissions:
